 BURTONS GO WEST

Yeehaww! Brigham decided in the spring to ride in the LOTOJA (an insane 206 mile bike race from Logan, Utah to Jackson Hole, Wyoming) so we planned our summer getaway around it.

Theodore's first trip water-skiing in Utah.

I'd say he liked it!

Teddy's first mountain summit. He is so observant and alert! Definitely an outdoor baby. He fell asleep on the hike down-- so much so Brigham and I were terrified and had to wake him up just to make sure he was alive. Champion parenting, folks.

The Burton bunch

Our lovely husbands bought us skis from the resort close-out after. Lynne and I are set for some serious powder this winter! That bunny hill can't stop me! Brigham is such a great skier, I need to get my act together so we can actually go together. Maybe now that I'm a mature mommy I won't be such a pansy about the cold. I hate being cold.

Grandma Burton and the girls

Theodore loved playing with Grandma Burton

Brigham seriously grew up in the prettiest place

Brigham's Race!
Up bright and early at the starting line in Logan.

I LOVE Savanna and am forever indebted to her. Holy moly she was a saint for helping me as the "support crew" for Brigham. Driving all around Utah, Wyoming, Idaho with a 3 month old and a car-full of any and every supply Brig might have needed was NOT easy.

This rainbow could not be more appropriate. After a LONG day, this guy appeared minutes before Brigham crossed the finish line.

Jackson Hole

I am so proud of Brig and his teammates.

After the race we drove up to Island Park to meet the Torres gang for Theodore's blessing and a few fun days at the cabin.

My mom made Theodore's blessing outfit-- it was perfect.

We took a day trip to Yellowstone...

Theodore LOVES books. Especially books with fun phrases like "goo goo goggles". Good ol' Dr. Seuss. I had no idea he was a Theodore, too.

Aunt Savanna and Uncle Zachary.

No trip out West is complete without an IN-N-OUT meal or two.

Our last day in Utah was SUCH a nice surprise because I was able to meet up with THIS girl and her adorable baby Cate. I'm obsessed with them both. She was in Salt Lake for a wedding and we were so lucky our trips overlapped a day. ahh, if only we were neighbors.

Fast forward to now, back in Ohio. Back to the grind.
We miss our family, but we are excited for our adventures in Buckeye country!
OH-IO!

  1. It's so fun to see what you guys are up to! Congrats to Brigham on finishing that bike ride. Wow. Your baby boy is ADORABLE! I hope we can meet up sometime soon. Next time you're in Utah, we'll have to plan a trip down there.
